We have been working The Casino & Cruise ship market the last several years, WE have done some one-niters, but We miss the party atmosphere of perfoming at private functions!!!Below is a list of some of our past & present gig history;

Gary Draffin Bass & Vocals

Gary is the founding member and leader of THE CONTENDERS. In his career Gary has worked with some of the biggest and brightest stars in the business. He has always endeavored to play all styles of music. When ever he is asked what is his favorite kind of music, his answer is always [GOOD STUFF] This has always shown to be one of his biggest assets! with every group that he has been involved with.

This versatility always shows whenever he is on stage, with the ability to perform almost any style of music and sound authentic!along with a strong sense of SHOWMANSHIP! THE CONTENDERS are always a favorite in every venue in which they perform!

Gary has always strived to work with other musicians with the same goals, which has always lead to a winning combination!!

Ray Still Guitar, Guitar Synthesizer & Vocals

Ray is a multi-talented entertainer with the ability to emulate the sounds of any musical instrument that a keyboard synthesizer can produce. This along with his extraordinary skills on the sax and his vocals makes Ray a top-notch entertainer!

Ray Still has been nick named "The Man of Still" due to his capability to do anything and everything with his Guitar Synthesizer. The audience is always mesmerized by his talent.

If you listened to The Contenders with your eyes closed, you would be carried away by what you would think is a six or seven piece band!

Ray also played alongside Gary Draffin with The Marvells, one of the top show bands in the country and has worked with a number of huge stars throughout his career. In a word, the description of Ray Still is.....AWESOME!!!!!

Bubba Feathers, Guitar & Vocals

Charlie Feathers Jr.[Bubba] has also been in the music business all of his life. He started working with his father [THE LEGENDARY SUN STUDIO RECORDING ARTIST CHARLIE FEATHERS] as a young man.He,along with his dad, are honored in THE ROCKABILLY HALL OF FAME! They performed all over the world headlining at major events and venues. Bubba is a true professional in every sense of the word. With his SHOWMANSHIP combined with his guitar playing abilities along with his excellent vocals go hand in hand with Gary and Ray, making The Contenders A WORLD CLASS BAND!

Steve Alban, Drums

Steve and Gary became a team while playing in the World famous, THE BOX TOPS. They worked so well together that they decided to continue on as a team after THE BOX TOPS disbanded. Together with Ray Still they reformed The Contenders. It is uncanny the way that he and Gary work together, they are so tight it's like they can read each others minds!

Steve is also able to play any style of music and always sound authentic ! All eyes are on the stage when Steve performs a drum solo, its always something that makes you stand with your mouth open and wonder, WOW! that guy is AMAZING!!!He is famous for his ability to never make a mistake!

The combination of these four talented men make The Contenders a hit in each and every venue !

Centralising

Howdy,

I am in the midst of trying to centralise all of the music sites that my music is on as I am about to return to nursing in the next 6-8 weeks & won�t have the time to fanny about going from site to site to keep in touch with friends and fans from these numerous sites. I fully intend to maintain contact with my affiliated sites but the frequency will be sporadic due to time constraints.

I have decided to centralise at �ReverbNation� or my personal website.

�Reverbnation� is the site where all of the material that I have released is at. Also, if you sign up as a �fan�, there are 3 songs available for free downloads. If there�s a particular song that isn�t available for free download, let me know & I�ll make it available for free download for 24 hours. I will do this as soon as I receive a request from you there.

Also at �ReverbNation�, you can join as a member of the �Street Team�. It is totally free & involves just a click & no further effort on your part. Basically it improves my statistics & improves the odds of being noticed by promoters. It�s THEIR money I�m after, not my friends.

This will also prevent me from doing �bulk sends�, such as this. I hate them as they are so impersonal, but having chosen to send this to you, I know that you know me well enough to know where I�m at.

Returning to music has kept me sober for all but 6 out of 348 days, which was the initial aim of the game, so it seems to be working. I�m enjoying it too. With the exception of my children, it is the ONLY thing I have got genuine enjoyment for waaaay too long.

I've just uploaded my newest recording, "No Other Way." I was inspired by Stealers Wheel when I wrote it, and it of course is driven by acoustic 12-string, but also features my harmonica playing. Took longer than I thought it would to get this track down, but I like how it came out. Enjoy!

I also recently uploaded an outtake of "In June". It's not my final choice, but I thought it was good enough to be put up here for people to listen to.
