SEGUIDA

Rock, Latin, World Music

Seguida…To follow quickly without interruption..... SEGUIDA is a name that is very recognizable to the ardent Latin music aficionado. From their inception in 1972, Fania Record artists, Seguida had paved the way for the genre of Latin Rock to blossom. Their distinctive “East Coast” Afro-Cuban-Salsa-Rock sound grew out of the barrios of the Bronx, NY and has continued to delight audiences all over the world in present times. Included as part of the “Fania All Stars,” Seguida has toured extensively throughout the country spreading their infectious sounds of Latin-Rock-Jazz as they shared the stage with such great Latin music stars as Larry Harlow, Eddie Palmieri, Hector LaVoe, Willie Colon, and the list goes on…Their two albums on the Fania Music Label (Love is…Seguida, & On Our Way To Tomorrow…Seguida) still continue to enjoy record sales all over the world. Present day bandleader/producer/composer/drummer, Steve Adorno has rekindled the band and brought a mixture of original and new members together to record a third CD just recently released for the independent label Onroda Records. Seguida III…is a journey into the future for this well established band of musicians. Produced by the team of Steve Adorno/Jay Henry, Seguida III brings tradition plus new innovations to the genre of Latin Alternative music. Seguida enthusiasts will also be happy to see several brass arrangements by the original “El Patron” of Seguida, Randy Ortiz. Continuing with their tradition of using English vocals and Spanish Soneros to top off a hot salsa-soul-rock feel has proven to be a successful formula for Seguida, and it continues on with Seguida III. This CD also combines flavors of R&B, Hip-Hop, & Jazz to round out the new sounds of Seguida and signifies a pathway into the future for this very dynamic band. Along with original founding member & guitarist/composer Louie Perez, vocalist/composer Lori Rose, the newly formed Seguida is powered by a very talented lineup of seasoned musicians. Included here are well known trumpet player Pete Nater, bass player Wally Irizarry, and Gregory Rahiim Press ..boards. Vocalist Anthony Leon, Julian Meyers & Phil Ocasio on woodwinds, Jose Davila on trombone, Willie Olenick on trumpet, Congero Pito Castillo and Carlos Go-Go Gomez on timbales, round out Seguida’s live show. Seguida III boasts special guest performances from artists such as Latin music star Larry Harlow, and Latin singing sensation Kevin Ceballo courtesy of Universal Latino Records. Up & coming new artists, rapper Young Cruize, and vocalist Jaelyn Taylor give performances that are sure to excite a younger generation with their fresh new sounds. Also included on the CD are the powerful performances of west coasters Ricky & Romeo Carrido on congas & bata, & Spanish guitarist Jorge Pastrana. SEGUIDA… brings professional experience with an exciting unique New York sound…a fusion of Latin passion, explosive Afro-Cuban rhythms, mixed with the influences of Rock, Soul, Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop.

Ambient, Progressive, Rock

I started playing music in the mid-70s, when music recording technology was getting more elaborate, and musicians were experimenting with the new tools. I still feel that technology is making new forms of music possible, especially the "Web 2.0" phenomenon such as this.

I have a music composition degree from Columbia College in Chicago, under the direction of the late jazz composer/arranger William Russo. I studied jazz and classical intensely during this period, as well as aleatory and experimental methods (which I still do to this day).

I write and play music like a painter paints, i.e. I go through periods, I do sketches, studies, I experiment. Since I like the visual arts almost as much as I like music, the domains are always cross-pollinating. I particularly like to apply avant garde techniques, but often retreat to song forms.

I have written hundreds of compositions over the years in a myriad of genres. I self-produced 10 or more albums of music, primarily ambient music or film music. (See my website leebarry.net for a discography)

In the early 90s, I experimented heavily in altered tunings for bass (and guitar), and in 1992, self-published a book on alternate tunings, which is now available as a free download at:
Camero Jones

Blues, Alternative, Rock

Born in Worcester MA 1961, moved to Austin in 04. Like an idiot I decided to be a singer songwriter in life and not a plumber or lawyer. My girlfriends are usually young crack whores who prostitute themselves for dope but it's better than being alone and they need someone to make as miserable as they are, but hey, never a dull moment with the cops, lawyers, landlord bitching, and picking up the broken shit thrown at me around the house. I hate government because they all lie like my crack whore girlfriends and I dislike lier's. I like guns, lots of guns. I practice once and a while and if I ever make money at music maybe I will practice more. My political affiliation are the Malcontents. I should get a real nice girlfriend but many are just urban prostitutes in disguise and cost more to please which is still never, plus they give lousy head and they still will ruin your life and get everything you have, its the American way, no wonder no one gets married anymore. I love my country, but hate communist liberals because they are fucking mentally ill and want my guns, and turn my kid into a deballed queer and make them listen to foolish woman like the ones on the View or Sex in the City, no wonder men don't get married anymore. I think the men in England are politically correct pussies who should be wearing skirts, and I hope the men in this country will keep their balls by getting of the couch and standing up to the liberal scum who will destroy this once great country because most American men suffer from the greatest evil of them all, complacency. I don't think all woman are bad, and to tell you the truth, I think the survival of this country is in the hands of the few honest, submissive, strong, smart, caring, forgiving, beautiful inside and out ones left in this country, who can motivate a man to be his best because of who they are and not what the fucking mentally ill liberal establishment says they should be, like dressing like a Hollywood whore who men like for two hours but have no respect for.. God bless those few, and I hope there are more of them than my jaded mind thinks. In ending, I'm putting my music up and if you want to listen knock yourself out.

Rock, Pop, Progressive

We are a 3 man band that started in LA. We focus on our own music influenced by the late 60's Brit Rock.

MIGGS

Rock

Culling songs written during the band's unsigned years, “Unraveled” (out June 17th) provides a chance for the band to truly break out! Singled out by the San Francisco Herald as “the next big thing,” the band saw its first national radio single, “Perfect,” peak at number 46 on the radio charts, only to have their record label go chapter 11. The band lineup changed as well, shifting from a quartet to a trio and different band members coming on board. In the following years, MIGGS appears to have moved out of the shadow of expectations and overcome intense odds to right things for the band. And if the reviews and growing crowds are any indication, this lineup appears ready for its close up. The San Jose Mercury News proclaimed: “[Don Miggs] is a guy who deserves to be a star,” while the San Francisco Examiner dubbed their sound “well-crafted, catchy, guitar-based, melodic rock” and Billboard magazine said, “Miggs is distinguished by a timeless quality that will keep them fresh-sounding for years to come.”

Check out their stream of "I Believe" HERE!!!

Prior to signing with Rock Ridge Music in 2008, MIGGS sold over 20,000 units without any true label support and has shared the stage with diverse acts such as Train, Cake, Gomez, and Mandy Moore. The band can be found online at www.miggsband.com and <a href="http://www.myspace.com/miggs>www.myspace.com/miggs.
