Progressive, House, Techno

I've been playing music since I was a kid. First the drums, then the guitar, and when I was fifteen I started experimenting with audio production. I’ve been a part of a number of bands and musical projects, ranging from industrial to folk to rock, but I found my niche as an electronic music producer. I've been producing dance music over the last eleven years and several of my releases have gained DJ support from the likes of Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Marcus Schulz, Andy Moor, Tiesto, Flash Brothers, and Jon O’Bir.

MARCUS BEIER

Progressive, House, Trance

An Electronic Music artist since 1999, Marcus Beier has long been a fixture in the Midwest music scene and is best known for his residency with Detroit’s premier nightclub, BLEU. Always one of the most in demand artists in Detroit, Marcus has played alongside many of the world’s top deejays and can always be found playing the hottest parties and after-hours in the Detroit market. Since 2006 Marcus has held a second residency with the ever successful ‘Substance’ parties alongside good friend and partner, Dabura @ Boom Boom Room/Skybar in Windsor. With these events and additional National and International gigs Marcus played over 60 nights in 2008 and is set up to play even more in 2009 with a focus on new and emerging markets for his signature Progressive sound.
How can one describe that signature sound? “Cutting-edge, Dance floor driven Progressive House”, explains Marcus. “Its Progressive House in general but I play music for people to dance. I play music that makes people want to move, have to move even. This may mean we venture into some more Progressive Trance, or even more Techno laden sounds. It is cutting edge because it’s fresh and new sounding even though I often blend in classic dance tracks from as far away as 2000.”
Since 2004, Marcus has also made a name for himself as host, producer and resident of the top ranked Friskyradio show appropriately titled ‘FORWARD’. Close to 60 shows have been produced bringing exclusive mixes from over 30 of the world’s top jocks to Frisky. In producing the show he has worked with such artists as Max Graham, Steve Porter, Satoshi Tomiee, and Serge Devant just to name a few. “With every project, whether it be my show, a gig, or a new night I am trying to produce, I always give my all and always work for the success of the end result.” “I want people to have fun, experience new sounds and go home wanting more”, says Marcus. In 2009, more is what they are going to get. Marcus kicked off the year with a special 7 hour sunrise set in San Juan and hasn’t stopped since. This is the year for new markets and new ventures expect to see Marcus playing all over this year and keep an ear out for the first original productions coming from the studio before summer. Catch Marcus every fourth Wednesday with ‘Forward’ on Friskyradio.com, holding down residencies @ Nine (Detroit), Skybar in Windsor and soon in Toronto, and recurring guest slots on Digitally imported radio (DI.FM), Sirius and Music Choice.
“Through every show and every mix look for me to continue my focus on what is important, sharing the best, most progressive EDM with those who enjoy hearing it….”

SUN TZU CADRE: REDEFINING THE STANDARD

The honorable SUN TZU CADRE is rising in the world of Hip-Hop, bringing a whole new and much needed philosophy to the decrepit genre. SUN TZU CADRE is far more than just another mindless corpse of hip-hop artists. Far and beyond the run-of-the-mill in the world of hip-hop, SUN TZU CADRE takes the listener into their very own crusade. They invite you to follow their path into enlightenment through music to master the true intelligence of rhymes and words; thereby achieving a deep-seated appreciation of expression. Their stated goal as a hip-hop group is to foster critical thinking in the minds of their fans and people everywhere. SUN TZU CADRE was formed as a brotherhood in the early 90s and transcended to musical composition in the fall of 2003. With the underlying influences for their compositions being extracted from the study of hip-hop, dovetailed with the severe philosophical planning tenets contained in the book, the “Art of War” by Sun Tzu, this Detroit based collective is sure to please your mind, ears, and heart with refreshing rhymes and breath-taking beats. The true jewel of SUN TZU CADRE is that they use hip-hop not merely as an entertainment medium, but as an educational system to inspire the youth; thus motivating the listener to be the best at anything they aspire to be.

Artfully combining philosophy and music, SUN TZU CADRE's debut mixtape entitled "Master Equality", planted a seed of unique views of life and hip-hop squarely into the minds of the normally unchallenged listener. This is some truly thought provoking art, which goes well beyond the norms of the genre. Some quotes from the SUN TZU CADRE may give you a bit of insight: "A nation within to uplift educates and refines the minds of those attracted to the peaceful magnetic." SUN TZU CADRE is an official threat to hip hop phonies. Believe it! They MEAN it. And it's about time!” The latest release from SUN TZU CADRE is “The Art of Rhyme”; a free compilation cd featuring tracks from several upcoming projects from artists on Cadre Records.
Nexus Six

Rock, Electronica, Progressive

Advances in genetic technology have allowed scientists to create sophisticated biologically-engineered humanoid beings called "Replicants". Following a violent revolt that takes place in Brentwood, the replicants declare war on mainstream music.

It’s 2009, and a Producer is called out of retirement. Reluctantly Rick Voight is brought to his old boss, who informs him that the recent escape of four Nexus Six replicants is the worst yet. He orders Rick to track down the four replicants, sign them to his label and produce their record. Rick agrees to help after his boss makes thinly-veiled threats – if Rick is not a Producer, then he is 'little people'.

Rick is briefed on the replicants of the Nexus Six line up: Joe Mann, frontman, is a "Vocal model"; Micky James is an Electro Virtuoso; Bertie is built for high energy impact; and Rob Halls is a "Fretboard Pleasure Model".

The Nexus-6 model has a four-year lifespan as a failsafe to prevent them from developing poor music, bad lyrics and a desire to wear tight jeans. As their life experiences increase and their emotions develope the music has become more intense, darker and far more human than it should ever be.

It’s only a matter of time …
