I have been playing music every since I can remember. My father had a great music career, opening up for bands such as, Head East, Johnny Paycheck, and recorded some songs for Dad Carter At Sun Studios in Memphis. So he started me out early. Around the age of 13 I started playing bars with my father in a blues band as the lead guitarist. At the age of 16 I had the privlage to go to the Fine Art Center and studied under THE GREAT STEVE WATSON, who at one time was the 1 studio guitarest in L.A., If a band needed a guitar player, hes the one they called. Im recently playing as a lead guitar player in a band called "The McCoy Band" around Clemson and other college towns as well as other surrounding areas.

Originating from Gisborne, New Zealand, I began as just a guitarist in a school band. All of a sudden, I'm busking with a Yamaha P.A System, my Fender Squire Stratocaster and my Yamaha Keyboard, wowing the streets of gisborne with a wicked (apparently) rendition of the Eagles' Hotel California.

Now I do a whole lot of Private Solo Gigs, and I play Eb Alto Saxophone too

Jazz

The name came from the neighborhood back in the 60's and 70's and was my stage name when I played with some known bands.

Music has been part of me for over 5 decades, guitar and keyboards have been my vehicle for most part although other instruments have played a part as well. There have been countless bands large and small some very well known while others not, that I have been involved with. Since I'm a big believer in living in the "now" world rather than the past which is water under the bridge, I wont dispense with a big list of band names. I will give you a brief history.

I started playing the guitar in the mid 60's while working in a music store. My main instrument at the time was keyboards. Playing with several bands, some small some big, some known and some not had also been part of my life. Rather than playing on the road, becoming a career music educator and going to music college was more important.

Ironically, I ended up doing something totally different after a few years of teaching; remodeling. I continued to play with a few local bands while remodeling but ended up giving up playing the guitar due to lack of time.

In 2005 I picked up the guitar again after a 30+ year hiatus and began to relearn to play.
