Fool Moon

Rock, Grunge, Funk

FoolMoon is a band out of the soft south of the Netherlands. This doen\'t mean that their music is soft. The gitarist Wouter and the bass-player David learned to funkrock in the band \"Once\". And yes, once upon a time they warmed the hearts of rocking youngsters in the city of Eastwood (Oosterhout). The frontman of the band, Roland (Oosterhout), has been the singer of the grunge band \"Naive\". This band was called the natural succession of Once, at the start of the nineties, at least because of their local popularity. Thijs (Tilburg), the fourth and last member of this new band, also played with Wouter and David in the funky band \"Gadget\". During the late nineties this band consisted of three more musicians and it was in this period that David, Wouter and Thijs experienced with the borders of what music has in it for people. They found out that it were their own borders they were discovering. However, they nearly won the Dongense podiumbattle, and were typified as the strange duck in the bite. It was no problem for them to give a jazzy funky gig between hardrock musicfans, and Foolmoon is the answer to that mystery.

Foolmoon has got a heavy but warm sound. Sometimes massive, mostly pure rock, and always room for the more subtile songs about love and hope, however, the songtexts are not for a one-way interpretation. You can hear in it what you want. And that is only one of the reasons to go to a live gig.

bantunani

Funk

Of the trinity in the nu-rumba

Bantunani is a group of \'Nu-rumba\' musical movement the paternity of which he claims from 2007 dates their creation in Paris. The group was created by Michel Nzau VUANDA for the label VizualizMusic.

The inspiration coarse rumba is in the heart of the inspiration of the group but the nu-rumba it is above all the new tones in the unpublished rhythms embracing furious airs where mix subtly tempo of Funk, HipHop and it with accents Groove unmistakable inviting every spectator or listener in the dance.

But which Dances, in the nu-rumba the dance is goes alongside to the reflection to reach the soul of the music; bantunani updates the feather of the artist of street engaged without concession with as base of thought the dance to affect the musical Trinity: dance, Thought, Spirituality such is the shout of the singings bantu which formerly announced the war.

The name of the group would have three meanings assumed well in the philosophy of the group, the first sense comes from the word lingala, bantu which means the bantu \' people \' and which would send back to the question which is these people; the second meaning is more universalist order because it dismisses to the notion of bantu as human being, where from the question which we are? Finally the last sense, the bantu word also means \' people \' thus we would have the following question, who are these people in this particular case which is this group bantunani. This music is a true invitation in the dance, the reflection and in \'Saint Force\' as ultimate element of the musical existence.

Understand the music of bantunani:

Nu-Rumba: a break and a meeting
A musical break the guitar rumba which formerly evoked the cheerfulness and the freedom from care sank into the naivety, becoming an instrument of power, accompanying a forced enjoyment.

The nu-rumba returns to this guitar its derisive role of small storyteller of trouble, its small comments on the story of the singer.

A political break.
BantuNani exactly takes up with the tradition of the committed artist, the interpreter of the sufferings of the large number, the one who speaks when everybody is reduced to the silence.

A story of a meeting, Nu-Rumba it is the story of a meeting: the meeting of two generations of Congolese musicians: the former, which knew the stars of the Congolese rumba and for whom the mockeries of the guitar Zairean have no secrets and piece of news, tired of the popularization of its music and in search of its true roots.

Meeting of the musics,
NuRumba or the success of the musical interbreeding.
In this first album RumbaLounge, everything is meeting.
Musical meeting at first because all the styles cross themselves in this album and it is always a pleasant surprise because it is inside even in every title as the currents get involved and with so much subtlety as only a deep knowledge and a true passion of the music could allow it.

Of the album \'RumbaLounge\'
Musicalemnt, the album exceeds by far the frame announced by Afrobeat-Rumba, it is clearly influenced by the current various adults of the Black music and reties often forgotten links. We offer to volontier a journey from Franco, from Bob Marley to Michael Jackson; a journey of Afrobeat in the disco; but confirm here its personal accents which gives its a sincere originality.
It really appears as a synthesis of a roaming and insatiable author in a collection of fusion.

In this album without complex, we re-know above all the expression of a Parisian music because the main part of the artists arise from the underground scene and it, with pronounced Latin contributions which find a particular echo in this African base.

History of a delicate recording,
After debuts of collaborations with MaelStudio, recording studio with strong influence HIP-HOP and Dance Hall, the project sees itself consolidated by the meeting with Mister CASTRO who, seduced by a pre-listening, subjects the project to the Studio Davout for a coproduction.

Completely registered again and mixed by Jean Loup Morette, bantunani settles down then in prestigious local of Studios DAVOUT in PARIS between April and June, 2008.

At the end of the mixing, it is always in Paris where Mastering comes true with the colllaboration the ColorSound company under the aegis of Florian.

The result is simply amazing for a first album which puts the bases of this nu-rumba.
