"The Gits" movie premiere party featuring Dormitory Effect Mon. 7/7!

All-fem Metal band Dormitory Effect was selected to play this special event on Monday, July 7 for the release of "The Gits" a documentary of this special band led by a very special female, Mia Zapata, who was murdered just as her band was receiving mainstream attention. This event will feature an all-star jam and a vigil for Mia. This is not be missed, and will take place at The Delancey in NYC; 168 Delancey Street. Brooklyn's "Metal Siege" has been postponed...

The two-day Metal extravaganza "Metal Siege", which was to take place 6/14 & 6/15 in Keyspan Park in Brooklyn has been postponed due to the untimely passing of its key organizer, Shannon Maginn, aka Princess F'in Hacksaw.

New dates will be announced soon. If you have purchased a ticket, hold onto it - they will be honored.

We (Dormitory Effect) will still be on the bill. More info as soon as we get it.

R.I.P. Shannon - you are and always will be greatly missed! \m/

Hey, everyone! We're playing tonight in NYC, come hang with us!

We haven't played the city in a really long time, but we're back and we're psyched! Dormitory Effect added to PA Rock Show & Featured Artist on Indieshows.net & TheDeliMagazine

New York's all-female Heavy Metal juggernaut Dormitory Effect has been added to the very cool Pennsylvania Rock Show. This station is very supportive of Indie artists and we are thrilled that they didn't just add one of our songs...they added our ENTIRE EP, "Wealth of the Disease" :)

DE is also the featured artist on Indieshows.net, a site that allows bands to post their gigs (inclusive of flyer artwork) and fans blog.

Lastly, The Deli Magazine has made Dormitory Effect a featured artist as well. Check it out at thedelimagazine.com/kitchen.

Dormitory Effect selected to open for Jamey Jasta!

On February 19 we had the honor of opening for the voice of Hatebreed and Kingdom of Sorrow, Jamey Jasta. It was a great night and, even on a Tuesday, Long Island showed the strength of its scene. We want to thank everyone who went, posted and promoted for us :)

Dormitory Effect selected to perform special showcase 12/1!

We have been hand-picked to be part of a special showcase run by A&R Unlimited. The bands with the best performance and crowd will be scheduled to play an exclusive show for decision-making record label execs next Spring. There are a lot of bands out here on Long Island, so we're honored to have been chosen!

A&R Unlimited, along with other LI music businesses, wants to show New York City music moguls that great NY talent is on Long Island, so instead of just looking in NYC or West, they'll start looking East :) this is the very first one and will determine whether these types of shows are worthwhile. We want to show them they are, and give the same opportunity to other deserving bands out there.

Your support for this event is crucial for its success, so if you could make it out for this gig, which is our last for the year, we'd really appreciate it! We have new songs to play, and a special giveaway for those who come to the show, so if you can make it, we'd love to see you there.
