PLEX a self promoting drum n bass artist on his own label Darkvibe Recordings. And since his last release's New Episode and Speedfreak with (ex-good-looking artist) Blame on (720 degrees) PLEX has been in the studio working on a whole new range of sounds and break beats.
PLEX is now working on a much darker side of the drum n bass spectrum marking his recordings with a very distinctive PLEX sound, created from his passion of the space age (720) sound to his deep, deep love of the raw jungle. "I think the whole concept for my music works ok because I am always floating between my favorite styles of D+B," explains Kevin. "I feel that this way makes my tunes sound different every time because there is so much more you can do combining styles than sticking to one specific sound." Since the early 90's Kevin has watched the drum n bass industry grow and categorize itself in to a wide variety of styles, "Over the last few years I have been listening to artists such as bad company, sub focus, and pendulum and also artists I know personally such as blame, kotp, and seba on (720-degrees) and find myself somewhere in the middle, but of course being a 720-degrees artist myself there will always be room for some of that spaced out atmospheric sound to crash in with my heavy break beats and basses." |
